It is safe to say that interior invent is an ever changing industry, just like fashion every year brings with it new colors, trends and textures. This report examines some of the key trends that were popular for bedrooms throughout the different decades.
The Sixties - the colors that were dominant in the 60's were: pink, orange and bright greens. Bedroom furniture was identifiable by it's sleek curves and it was popular to have white colored bedroom pieces. Rotund light fixtures were dominant as well as art prints such as Peter Max. As well as having white colored furniture, Swedish style pine furniture was greatly popular.

The Seventies - the seventies brought with them rich earthy tones of, yellow, brown, orange and green. Candlewick and chenille bedspreads were popular and are still ready to be bought today on eBay or in vintage stores. The 'hippie' look was nearby as was the trend to have iconic posters of musicians on the wall and a turntable and some vinyl nearby. Artwork that featured large floral patterns or owls for some fancy were also popular.
The Eighties - the eighties color scheme was anyone bright and flashy, hot pinks, greens, blues and oranges. Black veneered or teak furniture was important in the 1980s, along with the beanbag chair. The 1980s saw the introduction of Silentnight's first no roll together mattresses and orange oak furniture was also fashionable.
The Nineties - there are many different bedroom styles popular just now for instance, femininity with a hard edge. This would mean a quite neutral color scheme say lilac with some stronger colored accents say a mustard- green yellow throw or cushions, before you recoil in nightmare I have seen an example of this and it is precisely lovely. The environmental style is fashionable just now with faded and recycled bits of furniture and invent and a neutral color scheme. Black is a very strong theme to go for with statement walls and Gothic influences and is popular along with monochrome paired with natural wood flooring. Treasure trove is other favored bedroom style with dark opulent jewel colors and heavy upholstery allowing you to snuggle up in a shadowy den of relaxation. In inequity to the dark color schemes cool greens and crisp white linens and white bedroom furniture 'a la Laura Ashley are also in vogue.
